We are promoting a paradigm shift redefining human development starting with how early experiences in the womb have implications throughout the life span.  What is the story?



  • The US spends $100,000 a second on health expenditures, and 1 -3 times as much as other developed countries. Source
  • The US has the highest Maternal Mortality rate of developed nations at 26.4%.  The nearest nation to the US is the United Kingdom at 9.2%  Source
  • ​Black women are 3 times more likely to die in childbirth, and black babies 2.5 times more likely at and just after birth. Source
  • The US has the 6th highest rate of prematurity in the world, between Indonesia and Bangladesh. Source
  • Between 25% and 35% of women report traumatic births in the US. Source
  • Approximately 15-20% of women experience depression and anxiety following childbirth. Source
  • ​​Global estimates published by WHO indicate that about 1 in 3 (35%) women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime. Source
  • The three countries with the highest rates of depression, anxiety and alchohol/drug abuse are China, India and the US, in that order. Source
